I had a wonderful first impression of this Murray Hill brunch gem, Resto, and now that summer is in full swing, a couple of us brought Stevie’s puppy milo along for a lazy Saturday brunch.
Resto’s on a modest little block on 29th street, somehow away from the hustle, with a single rustic table for outdoor seating. We snatched it up to enjoy summer under the shade.
I had exactly what I ordered a year ago, and it was just as good as I remember it to be. The thinly-sliced home fries had the perfect little crunch with every bite. But even better, my Belgian waffle eggs benedict! The eggs were tenderly poached, plopped tenderly onto two sturdily mixed Belgian waffles that had just the slightest hint of syrupy sweetness.
If you’re in the neighborhood and not in the mood to wait 2 hours for a seat at Penelope, I’d dare to say this is more than just a better alternative!
