Tired of the ultra-sweet, gratuitously sugary cupcakes you find sprouting up all around the city? Then head down to Mosco street, a barren little alley in Chinatown, where you’ll find a glowing chalkboard with colorfully scribbled listings of cupcake flavors and treats.
Everything Frosted don’t offer your typical vanilla or chocolate cake with artificially-colored frosting. Not even close. The varieties of flavors are borne from the most natural ingredients, fused and baked deeply into each scrumptious little super-moist cupcake!
And you won’t just taste the jasmine tea, black sesame, green tea, so on and so forth, but smell it instantly as well. Apparently they ship the Asia-inspired flavors from afar, but it shines through and well worth your $2.50.
The cake is extremely moist and baked with care. The colorful buttercream on top gets the same treatment, fresh and flavorful, but not overwhelmingly sweet. I’m not a huge fan of buttercream, but if you are, this has to be it.
It’s intensely buttery, but undeniably fresh. They swirl the perfect amount on top to go with the cake, though I would honestly be happy with just a tray of these cupcakes in muffin form. Here’s the rest I plan on going back to try:
